Hi all. Anyone else seeing slow SMTP Conversations (or in Michele speak, slow delivery) on Yahoo and Hotmail email. We haven't noticed it anywhere else and it just appeared (got slow) this week. Wondering if it's a broad issue or just us. Thanks! Michele |

Reply with quote | #6 | I've read in several places that Internet Explorer 7 May Cause Outlook/Hotmail Problems. There is a known issue where, after installing Internet Explorer 7, Outlook has trouble logging into an HTTP email server, like Hotmail. Microsoft has a hotfix for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
Symptoms are:
When you use Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express to try to log on to a HTTP-based mail server, authentication fails. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
The client computer that you use to try to log on to log on is running Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7.0.
The HTTP server is using digest authentication.
Honestly, most people have dumped their Hotmail accounts in favor of Gmail (from Google) because they were far more reliable and had larger storage. |

I'm having the same problem too. I'm just happy to know that I'm not the only one with this problem! At least now I know it's Hotmail itself, not my computer, browser, Hotmail settings, etc. I don't recall anything like this ever happening before. |
